I'm Back But Not All Here

So....I moved.

And then stuff happened: the search for a roommate, a visit to a divorce lawyer, incidents with the kids--incidents involving the hospital and the police (SEPARATE INCIDENTS INVOLVING THE HOSPITAL AND THE POLICE that is), forgetting what floor I parked on in a Chicago garage (love that panic button), an echo cardiogram, a lung x-ray, an internet outage, another lung x-ray, a Yo La Tengo concert, a trip to Ikea, an Irish dance performance, a urine test, a 12 semester course load on-line, another urine test script that I haven't gotten done yet, an Avett Brothers show, Transformers II, two many Two-Hearted Ales, and a Google search stumble of dog+raccoon+scrotum.

Whew.

Things are finally getting back to normal. And for me normal is hosting a stranger on my couch. Here's Michael, a member of Couchsurfing.org who is biking the 48 states.

I mean, wouldn't you host him, too?

I've missed you all and will drop by soon. BTW, anyone Bloghering it?

I've missed your blog! Sounds like a crazy month.

When Michael is finished with your couch, please send him my way. I would love to host him and his cute curly hair.

Wow - you've been busy! Let Michael know I have a couch he may stay on in Michigan. And lots of curly hair products - he won't be disappointed, trust me! ;)

Whew! That sounds exhausting. I can't wait to hear details on the crazy events.

It's good to have you back.

As for the dude, I have plenty of couches available down here in Texas.

Hey hey hey!
I've been thinking of you; its great to see you!

The Couchsurfing things sounds interesting; I wonder if anyone ever passes through here. It'd be fun to be a 'host couch'! I love cooking for people, after all. I'll have to check that out.

I was wondering where/how you were. I know I screwed up on mailing again. I'm sort of out there myself these days.

Hope things are okay. I'm not Bloghering it, although I wish I was. Are you?

Hope the various doctor things come out as nothing.

Biking the 48 states? In my garage I have a large poster size map of the USA and a route through all 48 states drawn on it. I reasearched a loop that goes through all 48 states in 15 months through most of the best each state has to offer all the while trying to do it in good weather. I even had a spreadsheet that listed every town it went through and based on how many miles I rode I could tell you what day I would be where. I even followed the weather on the route for 3 years to see if my planning worked...and it did. If only I had the 15 months to do it. I'd be interested in hearing more about his bike trip...

I know I've missed you...and have wondered what was up. You summarize it so well. I mean, you actually make it seem like you--unlike the rest of us--may have a real life.

Anything involving hospitals and cops = Real Life.

Like The Wife (Shieldmaiden96), I've missed you too, but wish you hadn't tried to talk her into the couchsurfing thing. (Looking at photo above): I think that's a bad idea. ;)
