San Francisco.
It's the city of Jack Kerouac, Carlos Santana, and Harvey Milk. The perfect city for this Hippie Mom:
San Francisco and I go back a long way.
My first visit was when I was 16 years old and in trouble.
Since then I've returned many times and can say that four of those times have marked life-changing events. Including the trip I took last weekend.
Recently, after I posted about my blogoversary, birthday and breakup, A Free Man urged me to write more honestly.
So I'm starting The San Francisco Chronicles--a series describing those four life-changing events.
But not today.
Today I'm helping my fifth grader with his book project, taking Daughter to the mall to buy more MAC makeup and visiting my mother. Later I might even steal a HopSlam from the soon-to-be-ex spousal unit.
Stay tuned. Cheers!

I'm thinking of taking the girls for another trip up to SF and Santa Cruz this summer. You'll have to let me know next time you're going there. I love SF - and the idea of the W Sewage plant!
I can't wait to read your chronicles. Enjoy your HopSlam, and since I'm on a diet, I can say quite enviously, have one for me. Or four.
Yeah, I'm sure all the people who work at the sewage plant will be happy to know that some douchebag in a purple cowboy hat who's probably never worked a day in his life wants to rename their place of employment as a joke. Ah, San Francisco, home of thoughtless symbolism.
Can't wait to hear about what you "lost" and/or "found" in SF.
I want that shirt! And, yes, steal more than HopSlam from the soon-to-be-ex.
Enjoy!
I'll look forward to your stories--it's a wonderful city and once I did leave a part of my heart there.
Looking forward to reading them…
I <3 SF, especially when the weather is nice.
Count me as another reader looking forward to some History of Meg!
Love that picture BTW!
Looking forward to the chronicles!! San Fran is a fabulous city. Here's to being Hippie Chic! (Just watched the old Harvey Milk documentary last weekend...shots of the city and the people are breathtaking.) One of my favorite cities in the world!
You're such a tease!
Lookin' good Meg...but why no flowers in your hair? Cheers!!
San Francisco is my favorite city to visit even though I've only been there twice. I can't wait to hear about you adventures there.
BTW you look fabulous!
Ah Christ, be careful who you take advice from. Seriously, I look forward to reading them!
Is my interest piqued?
(checking)
Why yes, it is.
mmm... HopSlam....
Way to keep us hanging on. The suspense is killing me. :)
By the way, I accepted your Sexy Blogger award in the way only I can on my blog.
Great call on the sewage plant - that has some real class to it!
BTW hot picture.
never been....but interested in reading the San Francisco Chronicles....stopping by with some SITS love
why did I not know about this pending divorce? we can now be BFF's.
NY is to me what San Fran is to you. It will always be my home no matter what
Super superficial comment:
You have the best hair. Especially the bangs part.
