If It's Too Good to be True...

So I'm looking out my upstairs bathroom window and I see Teen back by the garbage cans.

OMG, I knew something would stick!! One of the eatwithyourmouthclosed, don'tleanbackinthechair, stoptellingyoursistershe'saloserandthatnobodylikesher, walkingoutofthefrontdoorattwointhemorningisthesameassneakingout rules.

There he was, taking the garbage out without being told!!! OMG!!! I'm not a failure of a parent, after all.

In fact, I rock!!!!

But no.

A few minutes later Teen came in the door followed by Ten-Year Old--both with sheepish looks on their faces.

Further investigation revealed this:

Teen was teaching his baby brother how to do graffiti with spray paint.

So I put Teen to work doing something construction outside:

Turned out to be an alright evening.

hard labor reforms the best teen offenders

Wow, you're a strict mom. Backbreaking labor like that for such a minor crime?

(At least he chose a nice paint color.)

If his baby brother needs to be taught how to do criminal damage, you've already failed as a mother. you should appologise.

I'm a little disappointed by the grafitti. I thought it would be something more creative, considering the family they come from. Of course, this post, though: very creative. Did your son glass blow those himself? That's pretty cool.

Love the ornaments. Too bad you guys don't live up here, Teen and Ten could enter our library's teen graffiti contest. That's how we roll up here in A2.

As a former teenage boy, I can assure you that, unsupervised, teenage boys will never do anything constructive. Constructive is not cool.

it's not so much that it's hard labor, it's more omg my mom is making me hang balls in the tree.

Seems good! I would say that means he's a mixture of the right stuff and the right influences.

Either way, you rock.
