My blog has made the top posts at Humor-Blogs three times in a row. And I’m number 5 on the crude humor list there, right up there with Retail Hell Underground and Angry Seafood. This proves to someone I live with that my appeal reaches farther than the Mommyhood. Thank you Humor-Blogs.
In a Not-So-Wordless-Wednesday I'd also like to thank Lisa Renee at Glass City Jungle for the mention in Toledo’s Free Press weekly. And I'm on Alltop! Excuse me while I do my happy dance..... OK. You see, I need all the validation I can get--read tomorrow's post to see why.
While I do have one foot in the fantasy word, I do have the other foot in the real world. Click here to read my editorial in the Free Press called, ‘Is It the Schools Who are Failing?’ It's an issue I care deeply about.
And stay tuned for Couch-Surfing in Chicago. It's an activity I care deeply about.

Congrats - and couch surfing in Chicago? I'm so there!
I think we all prefer our fantasy lives. I can see how couch surfing would be conducive to your chosen lifestyle. Congratulations on your blog ranking... if you're making your readers laugh regularly, then you're definitely contributing to their well-being.
Fantastic article on the public school system. It really is amazing when you compare the records of schools with high parental involvement and those without.
As a teacher myself I find it grossly unfair to blame the educational staff for a school or district's failings. If you were to break down a teacher's salary by the number of hours most work, almost every educator I know would be earning less and $2 an hour... that's how much time and how often they go above and beyond for love of their students.
If you get a chance, check out

Well worth the time invested.
Very good article.
BTW, I'm a homeschooling mom...

OOPS, I meant to comment about your Mother's day present (from your comment on MadMad's blog)...
My MIL has a friend who had a beautiful piece of Chinese Calligraphy in her living room.
She was told that it meant
"Serenity". Another friend (from China) came to visit and asked why she had a "Ladies Room" sign hanging in her house!!!LOL...
Gotta be careful about those chinese characters!
Blessings, EJT
Wow...congratulations!
Congrats on recognition of your blog. Very cool.
Congrats...I think you rock!
Congratulations! I bow to your humor greatness :)
ME showoff? Look at your FABULOUS picture woman!!!
Congrats on the web-wide recognition for the blog! And the column is, of course, extremely well done.
Being a mom is great, but sometimes the "you" gets lost in the woodwork!
Congratulations! You've managed to bring the "YOU" to the front of the profile!
Congrats!
Fabulous editorial, Meg. I'm so with you on all of that, and this has been a longstanding issue for me. I've also done the teacher/parent AND home school parent thing, and the "education specialist" and writer on ed. issues. We should write back and forth a bit.
Congrats on the humor blogs ranking, too!
Congrats!
Have you heard of KIPP? My daughter is a student at KIPP LA Prep, and is thriving there. It's because everyone is working together. I could (and have) written much on the subject myself. Email me if you'd like and I'll point you to all the links.
Fantastic article on the public school system. This is a topic I'm quite passionate about too.
